Exterior3D and SketchUp
Exterior and SketchUp
SketchUp® is a program from @Last Software for 3D modeling.
Exterior3D is able to export terrain in a DXF format which SketchUp can utilize.
Here are some examples (further examples are invited).
You can download the raw data file, the file exported by Exterior3D,
or the resulting SketchUp file by clicking on the appropriate link below the screenshot.
(Macintosh users will typically want .sit files; .zip is usually for Windows users.
The "input" file is the original DXF file imported into Exterior3D;
the "output" file is the file exported from Exterior3D and inserted into SketchUp.
When you export from Exterior3D, you can choose to export either triangles or a grid.
Each grid square is actually divided into two triangles, to ensure planarity.)
