COMPUneering Educational Licensing Policy

GENERAL

All COMPUneering programs which are licensed at educational discounts are for educational use only; they may not be used for commercial purposes. This applies to students, faculty, and institutions.

The program itself is the same, whether it is a commercial or an educational license.

For SimuTerra, the license is for one year only. Upgrades during that year are free, if there are any upgrades (such as from 1.x to 2.x).

SimuTerra educational pricing is only available at the higher level of SimuTerra, Pro; there is no educational discount for the lower (Standard) level.

Money paid towards personal educational licenses of SimuTerra can be applied as credit towards the purchase of a commercial (full-priced) license of SimuTerra Pro.

FRAME mac and LANDesign are sold "as is," meaning that we no longer support them. Please note that they run only on a Macintosh, in Mac OS 9.x and earlier (or Classic if run on a Mac OS X system).

Licenses are not transferable from one person to another.

All sales are final. There is a free 30-day trial available so that you can try before you buy.

The decision as to whether you qualify for an educational license is solely at the discretion of COMPUneering Inc.


STUDENTS

Provide proof of full-time student status at an accredited post-secondary institution. If you qualify, the prices are:

SimuTerra: US$50 (CDN$60 in Canada)
FRAME mac: US$50 (CDN$60 in Canada)
LANDesign: US$50 (CDN$60 in Canada)

Support is only via email, and is only available for SimuTerra.


FACULTY

Faculty of an institution which has a site license for SimuTerra may acquire an educational license free of charge, as long as they are teaching SimuTerra within the context of the site license. Other faculty who teach SimuTerra may acquire an educational license at the same price that students would pay.
