Window Menu

New Window

Creates a new window for viewing the current document. You can have any number of windows displaying the contents of one document. The name of each subsequent window will be the same as the name of the document (plus a numerical suffix, on Windows). The new window and view will be identical to the window which was frontmost when this command was chosen.

Minimize

(Macintosh only.) Moves the window to the dock; this is a service provided by the operating system.

Cascade

(Windows only.) Resizes and moves all the windows so that they are cascaded.

Tile

(Windows only.) Resizes and moves all the windows so that they are tiled, so that no one window overlaps any other window.

Arrange Icons

(Windows only.) No effect.

Info Panel

Shows the Info Panel if it is closed. Information is shown in this panel if and only if there is exactly one object selected in the document represented by the frontmost window.

Layers

Shows the Layers Window if it is closed. Allows you to add and delete layers, alter characteristics of layers, etc.

Tools

Opens the Tool Palette if it is closed.

Mouse Tracking

(Macintosh only; on Windows, this information is in the Status Bar at the bottom of the SimuTerra main window.) Shows a small window with the coordinates of the mouse. The Z value is zero when not within a DTM. Within a DTM, if a Proposed DTM exists, it is used for determing the Z value; otherwise, the Existing DTM is used.

DTM Volumes

Shows the DTM Volumes Window if it is closed. When data belonging to a DTM is being edited with the mouse, the cut and fill volumes are displayed as they change.

Lighting

(Windows only; on the Macintosh this is replaced by View > Show/Hide 3D Controls.) Opens the Lighting Window, in which there are several sliders which you can use to alter lighting and material properties. Changes apply only to the 3D view. (2D and 3D.)

Bring All to Front

(Macintosh only.) Moves all the application’s windows in front of the windows of all other open applications; this is a service provided by the operating system.

(list of open windows)

Each open window is listed here, and can be brought to the front by choosing it from this list.
