Introduction to SimuTerra

SimuTerra is a new program for real-time digital terrain modeling. This document instructs how to use both the Macintosh and Windows versions of SimuTerra. It is available from the Help menu of the running program, as well as on the COMPUneering web site. There is no other documentation for the program, neither printed or electronic.

SimuTerra comes in two versions: Standard and Pro. They are identical except for this: the Pro version allows you to create Proposed and "Cut and Fill" DTMs, in addition to an Existing DTM. Hence, building pads, roads, collars, and similar modifiers will have no visible effect in the Standard version.

The demo version allows you to do everything that the Pro version allows, except for the following:

• you cannot save

• on screen and on printouts, you'll see words such as "Demo of SimuTerra"

• when you export in DXF, about 20% of the output will be missing.

Also on the COMPUneering web site you can find other useful material, such as:

• A features and specifications sheet which summarizes the features, price, etc.
• Short instructional movies.

It is highly recommended that, after viewing the movies, you work your way through the tutorials in this document.
