From Importing to DTM

This page deals with getting from imported data to a DTM. Simple cases are dealt with in the Tutorial section of this document.

Often a DXF file will contain a lot of information which is not meant as data from which to create a DTM. You could approach this situation in different ways. It may be easy enough to select only that data which is to be used, then choose DTM > Create DTM.

In many cases the terrain data is contained in only certain layers, with names such as CONTOURS or IDX CONTOURS. In that case, you may want to hide the other layers, or even delete all the data which is not on the desired layers.

You don't have to create a DTM from all of the data; you can select only part of the data, then choose to create the DTM from it.
